This special sweet and sour sauce tastes delicious. Not only it is sweet and sour but also it is extremes savory. Without adding the white vinegar the sauce taste much mellow. I also will share the simplest way to tenderize the beef. It is a must try recipe

Ingredients
- 450 g beef tenderloin (cut into pieces)
- 40 g onion about 1 pcs, cut into pieces
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 tbsp diced red shallots
- 100 g bell pepper about 1 pcs, cut into pieces
Sauce mixture
- 100 ml water
- 4 tbsp ketchup
- 2 tbsp worcestershire sauce (fig1)
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 tsp tamarind paste (fig2 / or steak sauce like HP / A1)
- 1 tsp light soy sauce
- 1 tsp dark soy sauce
- ¼ tsp sea salt
Seasoning
- 1 tbsp yogurt (fig3 / full fat / sweet)
- ½ tsp ground black pepper
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp light soy sauce
- 1 tsp water
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp oil
Starch mixture
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp water
Instructions
- Marinade the beef with the seasoning for at least 3 hour. Combine the sauce mixture together. Set it aside.
- Heat the pan with 2 tsp of oil over high heat. Add in the beef. Pan fry until both sides are brown, about medium well done. Dish it up and set it aside.
- Heat the pan with 1 tsp of oil over medium high heat. Stir fry the onion, shallots, garlic, and bell pepper until the ingredients are soft
- Add in the sauce mixture. Gradually add the starch mixture until the sauce is thickened. Add back the beef and mix it well. Serve it hot.

Other tips
1 To replace yogurt, use either apple sauce, kiwi pure, pineapple pure, buttermilk, a bit of rice vinegar or white vinegar
2 tamarind sauce can be replaced by steak sauce
