Only served in North America. A very popular Chinese dish for western people. The sauce is super tasty. It is excellent to go with chicken wings, pork chop or whatever ingredients you love.

Ingredients
- 900 g Chicken wings
- 50 g all-purpose flour (or cornstarch)
Seasoning
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp ground black pepper
- ½ tsp chicken powder (Optional)
- 1 tsp oil
Sauce mixture
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- 2 tbsp Hoisin sauce
- 4 tbsp dark brown sugar
- ½ tsp chicken powder (Optional)
- 150 ml water (or chicken broth if you don't add chicken powder)
- 1 tbsp Shaoxing wine
- 2 tbsp light soy sauce
- 2 tbsp Chinese red vinegar
- 1 tsp chili garlic sauce (or 2 tsp if you want more spicy)
Starch mixture
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp water
Instructions
- Rinse and pat dry the chicken. Marinade it with seasoning for 1 hour
- Coat the chicken wings with flour. Top with some oil, and air fry at 180°C/350°F for 8 minutes
- Turn the chicken wing over. Brush a thin layer of oil on top. Air fry 200°C/400°F for 6 mins
- Add the sauce mixture in the pan. Bring it to boil over high heat. Season to taste. Add enough starch mixture to thicken the sauce
- Add in the cooked chicken wings into the sauce mixture. Mix it well and dish it up. Enjoy
Notes
Frying or baking method:
Frying pan method: You can use medium heat, pan fry for 3-4 minutes on each side. Then add 3 tbsp of water. Cover and simmer for 5 mins.
