This isn't the typical sweet and sour pork chop you know. This is the advance version. Pork chops are marinated and coated with starch. Pan-fried pork chops until crispy, and then served with a sweet and sour sauce. The result is a delicious combination of crispy pork chops with a delightful balance of sweet and sour flavors from the sauce. Simply yummy

Ingredients
 

  • 850 g pork chops
  • 40 g onion
  • 4 tbsp all-purpose flour

Seasoning

  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • ½ tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 pcs egg

Sauce mixture

  • ½ tsp chicken powder
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp chili garlic sauce
  • 2 tsp dark soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Chinese black vinegar
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 2 tbsp Hoisin sauce
  • 4 tbsp brown sugar
  • 150 ml hot water

Starch mixture

  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 3 tbsp water

Instructions
 

  • Tenderize pork chops on both sides. Marinade them with seasoning for at least 30 mins (1 hour is recommended)

  • Coat the pork chop both sides with cornstarch. Heat the pan with medium high heat. Add in 2 tsp oil. Pan-fry the pork chop 2-3 mins each side until medium done. Put it aside

  • Add 1 tsp of oil in the pan. Heat it with medium heat. Stir fry the onion until soft. Add in the sauce mixture and mixed it well
  • Mix in the cornstarch mixture until the sauce is thickened. Combine the pork chop with the sauce mixture until the pork chops cost the sauce evenly. Dish it up and enjoy.
